Chaas (a light yogurt based drink)
This week's recipe is Chaas - a refreshing, yogurt-based, drink.
This is generally made to drink any time during the day to keep cool from the searing, Indian heat. Even though in the UK our summers are unpredictable (understatement I know!), this drink can be consumed any time of year.
It's actually a great accompaniment to my last Gujarati Vegetable Rice recipe here.
(serves 2 people)
Ingredients:
9 tbsp low fat yogurt (the amount can be changed depending on how thick you like to drink the chaas)
1 full glass of cold water
0.75 tsp salt
0.5 tsp ground cumin seeds
Optional:
1 tbsp fresh, chopped coriander to garnish
Method:
1. In a dish, whisk together all the ingredients with the exception of the coriander.
2. Pour into the glasses.
3. Garnish with the coriander.
4. Serve chilled for best taste.
So there you have it guys, savour and enjoy! Let me know how yours turns out!
'Til next time ... enjoy!
Bon appétit! xx
