Bataka/Bateta Vada Recipe (Spicy Potato Balls)

Good day Gujarati Food Made Easy lovers!

This week's recipe is Bataka/Bateta Vada otherwise known as Spicy Potato Balls.

Today, at the request of a very dear friend whom I regard as my elder sister and mentor, I am going to show you the recipe for Bataka Vada which is generally eaten as an appetiser to a meal or as a savoury snack. It is one of my personal favourites and they are very moorish! I really hope you try this recipe out and enjoy it! :)

Chaas Recipe (a light yogurt based drink)

Good day Gujarati Food Made Easy lovers!

This week's recipe is Chaas - a refreshing, yogurt-based, drink.

This is generally made to drink any time during the day to keep cool from the searing, Indian heat. Even though in the UK our summers are unpredictable (understatement I know!), this drink can be consumed any time of year.

It's actually a great accompaniment to my last Gujarati Vegetable Rice recipe: http://gujaratifoodmadeeasy.wordpress.com/2012/10/11/gujarati-vegetable-rice/

Aubergine & Potato Subze/Baingan ane Bataka/Bateta nu Shaak (Curry) Recipe

Good day Gujarati Food Made Easy enthusiasts!

Today, at a friend's request, I am going to show you how to make Aubergine/Eggplant & Potato Curry/Baingan ane Bateta/Bataka nu Shaak. It's something we have grown up on and for a time was one of my favourite dishes; in fact, I still love it today but as I have discovered new cuisines, I don't have favourites but I savour all, well made foods!
