Coriander/Cilantro Chutney - Dhania ni chutney/dhana ni chutney

Today, I will share with you the recipe for coriander/cilantro chutney which makes for a great condiment to many Gujarati dishes. It is also known as Dhana/Dhania ni Chutney. It can be spread as a thin layer onto bread for a tastier toasty, it can be added into vegetable curries/subzes, it can be eaten with samosas and with bhajis and pakoras.

So here is what the coriander/cilantro chutney or dhana/dhania ni chutney looks like:

Looks great huh!?! Ok, so let's take a look at the recipe:

Ingredients:

6 tbsp chopped coriander/cilantro (wash the coriander stalks first and use only the top half of the coriander stalks)
0.33 tsp green chillies (washed and ground)
0.5 tsp garlic (grated)
0.5 tsp salt (level tsp - add more if desired)
1.5 tsp water
0.5 tsp sunflower oil
1 tsp lemon juice

Method:

1. Place the coriander/cilantro, green chillies, garlic, salt and water in an automatic grinder and blend these ingredients until they form a smooth paste.

2. Remove the contents from the grinder and place into a small bowl.

3. Add in the oil and the lemon juice to the blended mixture in the bowl and mix well.

Now it's ready to serve! So there you have it, coriander/cilantro chutney! Enjoy! :)
